Loving people well can be a challenge, especially when you are apart from them.  It certainly doesn't mean you love them any less- it can tend to pull at your heart even more.

I think of my mother who died some 17 1/2 years ago- when I was a newly wed, and before my children were born.  She was my best friend, and the one who was always in my corner.  I love her dearly, really even more now that we are apart.

In her absence, she has taught me many things, and I am so thankful for that- of course I wish she was still here with me, but I know that I wouldn't be who I am now, if she were. It is not a sad, pity party here, but in fact a celebration of all the lessons learned, goals accomplished & gained strength.

So think about those that you love.  Love them dearly while you are with them- and remember to continue to love them when you are not.
