Roots of Bluegrass 
A University School of Nashville "Evening Class"
Thursday, Feb. 16, 6:30-8:30 pm

 

In Roots of Bluegrass, Andy narrates an audio journey through the archives of early recordings of American country music. He discusses the impact of technological advances on American music and traces the development and birth of bluegrass, providing recorded examples of the musical influences that Bill Monroe, "the Father of Blue Grass Music," brought together to create bluegrass, one of the truly American musical styles.

 

This class is part of USN's popular Evening Class series, and the registration fees go to support the school.

Guitar, Mandolin, and Performance Summer Camps
June, 2012

 

We are currently finalizing plans for some week-long, half-day workshops to be held this summer as part of University School of Nashville's Summer Camp program. They are:

 

Beginning Acoustic Guitar Techniques

Beginning Acoustic Mandolin Techniques

Music Performance and Jamming

 

These are fun & informative hands-on workshops for youngsters. Registration will open on January 17, 2012, and details will be available at www.usn.org/summer. (We'll also update you in our next newsletter.)
