Andy May-- MerleFest 2010
MerleFest 2010

It was another great MerleFest this year! The weather was perfect and the audiences were awesome! Here are some highlights:
  • Andy's set on the Cabin Stage was recorded by FestivaLink and will soon be available as a CD or download from their website and Andy's. Or, you can watch a couple of song videos on YouTube now.
  • The MerleFest Youth Showcases were full-up and brimming with talent. We were delighted to see one of our younger performers, a 4-year veteran of the Youth Showcase, up on the Watson Stage fiddling Swallowtail Jig with Scythian for an audience of thousands later in the festival! She was cool as a cucumber. Watch the video.
  • Andy was joined by daughter Katie for a few songs at his MerleFest artist outreach show at Mount Pleasant Elementary School. The kids loved the show, and they were a treat to play for!
In the Works:
  • Studio dates: In June, Andy will return to the studio to continue work on a project with singer/songwriter Renee Hudson. Last year's project, Love at the Wilson County Fair created quite a stir on local radio at fair time.
  • Dance of Life-A Mandolin Celebration CD reissue. Layout work ongoing.
  • Videos: We're working to get an abundance of video footage, old and new, up on YouTube. We'll keep you posted!
  • A visit to Nashville by Andy's ol' buddy & master fiddler, Kenny Kosek, including a series of shows and workshops with Andy! August, 2010.
  • Wilson County Fair  in August (Date & time TBA)
  • Planning for this year's Walnut Valley Festival (Winfield, KS), coming up in September.
  • Bookings! Want to see Andy at a venue near you? Give the presenters his name and website address: www.andymay.com or suggest a venue to Andy.
