Unleashing the Transformative Leader

Clarifying Purpose  ·  Engaging People

summiting Great leaders are people of passion with clarity of purpose.

Far from the pedestrian commodities that haunt the halls of nearly every enterprise, true leaders are peculiar and rare.

They are adept at engaging others through vision and a collaborative mindset rather than coercion or manipulation.  They are the result of intense desire, introspection, and courage...and they are not accidental.

Join Linda Galindo and Debra Gerardi for a 2-day intensive leadership retreat designed to enhance your capacity for effectively engaging others in complex organizations while leading with accountability, restoring your integrity, and nurturing your own personal resilience.

Cultivate the courage to let go of what is no longer working and to embrace deep engagement without relinquishing values or purpose.
Target Audience

This program is designed for leaders working in complex organizations, particularly healthcare, who are seeking a deeper level of engagement in their work and with their colleagues.

sunny beach photoExecutives report an absence of personal accountability on the part of subordinates and conflict-adverse CEOs as the top two reasons for being in constant fire-fighting or catch-up mode. The need to rescue, fix and save projects, deadlines and activities related to executing on priorities consumes much of the potential of real leaders who burn out or grow dissatisfied with being under-utilized. The trade-off is the difference between feeling like you are babysitting versus being a true leader.

If you resonate in any way with a desire to be with others of "like mind" who see, experience and know so much more is possible by putting "lead" back into leadership please consider joining us. This is a place for intelligent and wise conversation that comes from experience, inner-dialogues that have yearned for expression, and actualization that continues once you leave.

Deb G. headshotAs a conflict engagement specialist, I see a great deal of disillusionment and disruptive behavior that result from overcommitted work environments in which people feel that what they are asked to do, no longer has meaning.

The impact of conflict in the midst of complexity is having a profound effect on leaders- impacting their effectiveness and their personal well being. Research indicates that those who are in authority positions experience a higher incidence of personal health issues than those in other positions and this increased incidence has been linked to the pervasive level of interpersonal conflict and the intrusion of work into home life.

I see an increased desire among senior professionals to find better ways of engaging so as to reduce the impact of conflict, reconnect with colleagues, expand time spent on meaningful work, and develop peace of mind.

I am personally compelled to provide a space for leaders who are interested in developing the courage and capacity to engage fully; to find better ways to work together, and not just side-by-side. I hope you will join us...

Leaders are the few who dare to share the intimate details of their interior lives and engage in the fruitful self-examination that is necessary to bring about true transformation.

This program is based on an evidence-based model of transformation that incorporates an emphasis on four areas of work.  Using guided reflection, objective assessment tools, coached simulation, and structured dialogue, our program leaders will help you to:

·    Intentionally lead from a place of personal integrity and clarity of purpose.

·    Re-engage with who you are and gain insight into how you are - with focused attention to how habitual behavior patterns keep you from optimal engagement.

·    Practice reflective techniques, conflict skills, and accountable behaviors that arise from your own sense of clear purpose.

·    Join in a community of practice composed of likeminded colleagues as a means for supporting your ongoing efforts - enabling you to integrate your authentic self into the realities of your organizational life.

Questions that facilitate change

This retreat is only the beginning--preparation for embarking on the adventures of the transformative leader, where personal accountability is the base camp. Together, we will explore questions that will clear away obstacles along the path...

What if I really were to lead? What would be possible?

What would articulate success?

What are the barriers to my own personal accountability and what effect is that having on my organization?

How can I create movement in my organization from transactional programs to transformational initiatives?

How would a community of practice support my goals and objectives?

Unfettered by limited thinking and beliefs about what is or is not possible, what mountain am I going off to climb?

"The task of leadership is no longer strategic management, though this will always have importance, but of creating imaginative and participative conversations that bring out the best in themselves and others."

-David Whyte
