Dear Friend of FLD,

This time of year always seems to sneak up on us. The busy fall tourism season winds down and, all of a sudden, we're just a couple weeks from Christmas and New Year's.

I'm proud to say that access to FLD products has never been easier.  We just surpassed our 200th retail customer in NYS, so you can find our award winning spirits from NYC to Niagara Falls, as well as through many online retailers.  For a complete list of all our retail partners click here.  We also have a few more holiday tastings lined up this month.

Of course, you can always come right to the source. We'll be open every day from 11-5, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day. Still trying to find the perfect gift for someone? The FLD Gift Shop is the place to come.  Keep reading for some great suggestions.

From all of us at FLD, we wish you a wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely,
Brian McKenzie
President, Finger Lakes Distilling

FLD Teams up with Local Chocolatier

We're very excited to have teamed up with Christian Thirion of Preliminaire Chocolat to offer some delicious new chocolates in our tasting room. Christian is a true artisan, whether it comes to making glass chandeliers or fine, handmade chocolates.

The chocolates currently come in two flavors - Bourbon and Pear, and make use of our distilled spirits of the same varieties. Christian recommends popping the entire chocolate in your mouth at one time, as the flavor will explode when you bite into it.

The chocolates are available in 4 packs ($6.50/ea) or 6 packs ($9.75/ea). What a great gift for the chocolate lover in your life!

What's up with Whiskey?

bourbon and rye

For the first time since we've opened, both McKenzie Bourbon and Rye are available on our shelves at the distillery and throughout NYS retailers. While the next batch of Wheat won't be available for another year or so, we've got lots of whiskey in the pipeline.

This begs the question...what is your favorite FLD Whiskey? Please take a moment to respond to our online poll.

giftsHoliday Gift Guide (part 2 of 2)

If you are looking for a unique gift this holiday season, FLD might be the place to shop.  Whether it's for your dad who loves whiskey or for your co-worker who loves to entertain, check us out for that perfect present.  We also have lots of great gift bags to keep your wrapping to a minimum. Happy shopping!

The Whiskey Lover

FLD is where it's at for whiskey connoisseurs that love to try something new or have enjoyed McKenzie Whiskies in the past.  Chose your whiskey- Rye or Bourbon. Add a set of Whiskey Rocks to guarantee a perfect chill without diluting the whiskey with ice.  Don't forget to purchase the Glencairn
official whiskey glass with the FLD logo to complete the gift.

The kits include a 2-liter lightly charred barrel with stand, two 1-liter bottles of McKenzie Rye White Dog, and all the information you'll need to make a great barrel of whiskey. $99.

In case you missed it....

Kind of a slow month news-wise for FLD, but we did show up in this really interesting piece discussing James Bond's affinity toward whiskey, disputing the the common belief he only drank vodka martinis (shaken not stirred).

The Whiskey Sour Pickles continue to get lots of love. They will soon be available in 29 select Williams Sonoma stores and will be rolled out to all 300 stores in March 2011. They were featured recently in Airtran's In-flight Magazine.

Our friends at Felicia's discovered a great new cocktail while trying to whip up an emergency margarita.
