Dear Friend of FLD,

Welcome to Finger Lakes Distilling's first e-newsletter.  We want to thank all of the visitors who have made our days so interesting over the past few months, bought our products, and decided to stay in touch by signing up for this newsletter.

Our distillery and tasting room has been a very active place since our opening in mid-July. Summer was a great time to enjoy our deck overlooking Seneca Lake and for sipping Seneca Drums Gin and Tonics or Vintners and Lemonade. The abrupt and chilly fall led to harvest and heartier drinks like Glen Thunder Bloody Marys and our ever-popular Maplejack Liqueur. Now, it looks like we might make the cold, hard Burdett winter a little easier with the upcoming release of our Rye Whiskey (see below).

Our spirits are already available through over 80 retailers -  liquor stores, bars and restaurants. Is your favorite wine shop and/or watering hole on board (click here to see our list)? If not, please tell them to give us a call - 607.546.5510. We can ship to any retail license in NY State.

Look for us at several tastings this month (see sidebar), or plan on visiting us at the distillery to pick up a bottle of McKenzie Rye or our new Cherry Liqueur.  We've got some great music lined up for November 22 - Long John & the Tights.

In addition to our new Web site, you can find us on Facebook.

Thanks again for helping us get off to a great start.

Sincerely,
Brian McKenzie

McKenzie Rye Whiskey Coming Soon!

Thomas and I selected the barrels that will go into our first batch of Rye Whiskey this past weekend. As with all our products, we have stuck with our approach of using local ingredients and traditional techniques. We're very happy with the result and hope you will be too. We are awaiting state label approval and hope to have McKenzie Rye available for the holidays.

Finger Lakes Aviation

2 ounces Seneca Drums Gin
1 ounce Finger Lakes Distilling Cherry Liqueur (NEW)
ounce simple syrup
Juice from 1/2 lemon

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lemon.

Wild Berry Cosmopolitan

1 ounces Vintner's Wild Berry Vodka
ounce Cointreau or triple sec
ounce sweetened lime juice (like Rose's)
1 ounce cranberry juice
Lime wheel

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lime.

Maplejack & Cider

1 part Finger Lakes Distilling Maplejack Liqueur
2 parts fresh apple cider (cold or hot)

We've found our Maplejack pairs really well with some good local cider. Equally tasty on the rocks or in some hot, mulled cider. Give it a try!

Thank you from Finger Lakes Distilling

After over 2 years of hard work we have finally realized our dream of starting a distillery in the Finger Lakes. Fall is always a beautiful time in the Finger Lakes, but I think this year will be especially memorable as our first in full operation.

We appreciate the support of all our friends, families and customers.
