Due to a staff meeting, the GCAAR offices will open at the following times on Tuesday, June 28: 

 

Silver Spring: opening at 9:00 a.m.

Rockville and DC offices: opening at 10:00 a.m

 

All GCAAR offices will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

FHAJuly 29 is Last Day for Emergency FHA Refi Cases

The federal government's program to allow troubled borrowers to refinance their conventional loans into safe FHA financing terminates at the end of the federal fiscal year, Sept. 30, but the last day for lenders to obtain a case number under the program is July 29.

The program, called Help for Homeowners, was a temporary rescue program enacted in 2008 as part of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act. For more info contact Jerome Nagy, 202/383-1233.
