Sportsmanship Beats Out Competition

Behind the Scenes:
Gail Thomas Strong
S&P Festival Event Selection Committee Chair

Favorite fictional hero?
I was an avid reader, and admired the excellent problem solving of Nancy Drew and Cherry Ames as a young reader. I still like mystery stories with smart, clever women as the heroine - pick a series!
Best play space in Indianapolis?
We are blessed with a great city park system, and nature refreshes me. I'm a huge fan of the grounds of the IMA as play space, too.
Favorite family game?
Lots and lots of Scrabble. We have our own way to amend the rules. Sometimes our shared goal was to build the longest words we could, shopping from everyone's tray.
Gail has been working with the Spirit & Place Festival for...well, at least 10 years, but honestly, we've lost track! |

He's been practicing this form of improvisation for so many years that his dinners are unfailingly delicious... read more. |
