Pentecost Sunday at Christ Church
Friday, June 10, 2011

Whoever you are, and wherever you
find yourself on the journey of faith, you are welcome at Christ
Church, as you are, to receive the blessings of God so freely given.

| Friends:
Looking for a way to volunteer and help Christ Church be hospitable and lovely for all our visitors? Come and work at the Parish Work Day and Garden Day on Saturday June 11, starting at 9 AM. It is going to be a glorious day, and your help is greatly needed.
This Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost, when we celebrate the church's receiving of the Holy Spirit, the command to make the church open and inclusive, and the strategic plan to go global. On Pentecost, we celebrate baptism, reverse the effects of tower of Babel by speaking each others' language, and go into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Spirit.
Be sure to thank a choir member this Sunday, as this is the last Sunday the offering their glorious music until September. Have you talked to Parker Kitterman about joining the choir in the Fall? No better time to test out what choir is like by singing in the Summer Choir, which meets at 10 AM, beginning July 10th. After a brief rehearsal, you will help lead worship at 11 AM. Try it!
And, in September, Parker begins a choir for children, but he needs your help to get it started. When is the best time for rehearsals in your busy life? Children aged 4-8, 9-13, and older youth are all encouraged to participate. Adults willing to volunteer their time and talents to this endeavor are also welcome. Contact Parker with your interest and suggested best times to gather.
