The Christ Church Community Update
Friday, November 7, 2010
Whoever you are, and wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, you are welcome at Christ Church, as you are, to receive the blessings of God so freely given.

Greetings!

The services for All Saints Sunday are always deeply moving to me.  The prayers poignant, and the reading of the names of our friends and family who have died in the past year always solemn, with joy peeking through the inherent sadness.  Please be here at either 9 or 11 AM and pray for the souls of all faithful departed.  The music being offered at 11 AM is very special and beautiful, Louis Vierne's Solemn Mass.

But don't be early!  Clocks fall back one hour on Saturday night.  You get an extra hour before church, so no excuses for being late.

The Forum at 10:10 this Sunday morning is important for utilizing our time and talent in the ministries of Christ Church.  We will discuss how we are each called to leadership in ministry.  It is stewardship season, and we rightly focus on the time, talent and treasure that we share with Christ Church.  Those three gifts are always in order of importance.  Your most important stewardship gift to Christ Church is your time, and then your talents in ministry.

Of course, the treasure is a critical gift for our ministry to be alive and healthy.  This Sunday, we distribute pledge cards for members and friends to inform the Vestry what their financial gifts will be to the operating budget for 2011.  We return them when we gather for. . . .

One Service, 10 AM

Sunday, November 14th. . . .

when we celebrate the 315th anniversary of the founding of Christ Church.  Let us gather and worship with all of the fervor and faith that will sustain us for the next three centuries.
