Activity of the Month
Kate Ahern has compiled a fun group of home made craft/play resources.  Galaxy Dough (pictured), Textured Paint, Homemade Sidewalk Chalk.
                                           Go... Have fun!
 Amazing Apps!
You have an iPad or Android device.  You have TONS of amazing apps. You have a student who could benefit from using these devices, BUT a physical limitation gets in the way.  The TECLA Shield could be the bridge to success for this student!  The TECLA Shield is a switch interface device for iOS and Android devices!  Your student can now access all of the features/apps on an iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android device With A Switch
 Freeware
The Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (PAR) isn't a computer based "freeware", but
it is FREE.  The PAR manual helps you determine the most suitable reading accommodations for specific students by assessing their individual needs. Anyone on the IEP team can administer PAR to systematize how reading accommodations are recommended on a student level or across the school district.  Don Johnston is offering this free resource and also has instructional videos on how to use it.
 Grab Bag
Have you discovered Tar Heel Reader yet?  This is the website that has thousands of switch adapted, IntelliKeys accessible, talking books on topics that are appropriate for struggling/emergent readers from K to Adult.  If you can't make it to our computer lab training, maybe you could watch this tutorial offered by the PACER Center.  Tar Heel Reader is easy to use, FREE, and did I mention, it is Easy To Use?
No Tech Corner
Check out this No Solder method for making your own battery interrupters.  Very clever and waaaaaaay cheaper than buying them.  This handout provides step-by-step instructions.   For more great resources like this one, visit Deafblindresources.org.
Wishing you all the best!
