| Do you know about our State AT Program, Oklahoma ABLE Tech? Oklahoma ABLE Tech connects people with disabilities of all ages with
the assistive technology they need to learn, work, play and participate in
community life safely and independently. Assistive technology (AT) is a device
or service used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of
individuals with disabilities such as equipment for vision or hearing loss,
aids to improve mobility issues, daily living aids, and AT for educational
purposes. Oklahoma ABLE Tech was established in 1992 and is located at
the Oklahoma State University Seretean Wellness Center. ABLE Tech is
funded by a federal grant from the Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S.
Department of Education. ABLE Tech's most popular service is the assistive technology free
loan program allowing individuals an opportunity to borrow AT for four to six
weeks thus providing a trial period to determine what type of AT will best fit
the individual's needs. ABLE Tech can
discuss accommodation ideas by phone, provide demonstrations in person or via
Polycom, and ship equipment at no cost. To learn more about ABLE Tech services or
to browse the AT inventory, please visit www.okabletech.okstate.edu or
