| | Happy (almost) End of the Year!!
Before you pack up your pencils, put those kids on the bus one last time, and start slathering on the sunscreen, check out some of our summer training opportunities.
We realize getting away from your classroom is not always convenient
for you, so we are offering a limited number of computer labs this
summer (see below). The only thing we ask is that you register for only the ones
you can attend.
We are also bringing back the very popular Back to School, Make-it-Take-it Oklahoma Unit in July.
Have a great summer!!

Description
This 2-day make-it-take training will introduce the
"Oklahoma Unit". The "Oklahoma
Unit" was created by OATC staff to give teachers working
with students that have moderate to severe disabilities a creative
and engaging way to teach academic skills and also help them accommodate the
physical, sensory, or cognitive limitations their students may have.
This unit contains many no, low, and high tech activities that cover the
following curricular areas: reading, writing, math, social studies/community,
science, art, music, and cooking. Each
of these curricular activities was created to meet CARG-A objectives for the
state of Oklahoma. Participants will
receive an Oklahoma Unit CD and will have the opportunity to navigate through
the materials on the CD and make low-tech activities to take home. Each day will consist of activity
demonstration, hands on practice at a computer, lecture, and time to make
materials. The training will take place
in a computer lab and there will be space for two participants per
computer. The activities on the "Oklahoma
Unit" CD were created using IntelliTools Classroom Suite, Boardmaker, and PowerPoint. Participants will be guided through basic use
and editing of activities created in the before mentioned computer
programs. Basic computer
knowledge is expected, however knowledge of the specific programs is not required. We will guide participants through the
computer activities and provide support to those who need it. To register, please click HERE |
