Relief While on the Walk?Cliff Walk Toilets

Last week I was chatting with visitors from Germany. They raved about Newport's beauty, its gilded age mansions, the harbor and its white masted splendor. The woman mentioned that their family also enjoyed taking the 3.5 mile Cliff Walk. "The best thing about it is that it's free!" she proclaimed. But her male friend felt obligated to chime in - "Ya, but you pay the price. Das WC is stinkend."   Read more...

Volunteer Opportunites

Newport relies on volunteers.  They are serving the city and its institutions all around town.  That's because we enjoy living in our wonderful city, seeing friends and neighbors, and contributing to the betterment of our lives in Newport.

The Alliance of a Livable Newport relies on volunteers and is currently seeking help from our neighbors in Newport.  We need your help on the writing and editing our newsletter, planning and running public forums, and building our membership.

If you have a few hours a month, and to want to become involved with people that are working hard for the City of Newport, contact the Volunteer Coordinator and we will be in touch about the ways you can become involved with the ALN.

Thanks for helping!

Currently we are looking for someone who may be interested in helping create a "Neighborhood Association Map" for the website: if interested contact:
