New Naslund Chair Announced

Dr. Marleen Pugach
will join Rossier in January as the new Robert A. Naslund Chair in Curriculum: Teacher Education.

Pugach, who comes from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, focuses her research on teacher education, school-university partnerships, and diversity and special education.

Global Executive Ed.D. Recruiting for Summer 2012

The USC Global Conference News website announced the launch of Rossier's new Global Executive Ed.D. program to be conducted through collaborative online learning and face-to-face sessions in both Los Angeles and Hong Kong.  Meetings about the new program took place at the Global Conference in Hong Kong last week. 

The two-year hybrid program will focus on preparing senior education leaders and policy makers from the United States, the Asia Pacific Rim, and other countries, to understand education policy from a global perspective. The first cohort will begin in summer 2012. More.

CUE signs Major Contract with Pennsylvania State Higher Ed
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) has contracted with the Center for Urban Education (CUE) to work with system leadership and all of its campuses to engage in the Equity Scorecard process.

PASSHE is investing $1 million of its own funds over a two-year period into the effort. Its 14 campuses serve about 120,000 students in their baccalaureate programs and offer thousands of noncredit training programs to enhance adult employability and regional economic development efforts.

Dr. Estela Mara Bensimon and Dr. Alicia Dowd participated in PASSHE's annual diversity summit on Oct. 13, and met with leadership from the campuses on Oct. 14 to provide an overview of the Scorecard and discuss the formation of campus evidence teams.
