My art is my biography.
                       ----Ned Jacob

"I feel at home with painters who paint from the simple love of celebrating creation rather than a concern for making their niche in the history of art...they amount to a concomitant homage to what Robert Henri refers to as the 'brotherhood'---the unbroken line of individuals who paint for the sole purpose of magnifying the privilege of being alive."

New AWA Executive Director: Debbie Leeuw
Starting in January of 2010, Debbie Leeuw will join our Board as Executive Director. Our Executive Director of the past five years, Kris Westerson, has resigned to pursue a different career track and to have time for her own art interests. Kris has been a joy to work with and we wish her all the best. Debbie, formerly with Texas Art Gallery in Dallas, has many strengths that will compliment our group and we look forward to working together.
