The new year offers everyone chances to reflect, and to decide what to change or improve.  January is wonderful time to begin organizing your financial life.

Consider what filing system you need to : 1) pay bills on time; 2) easily locate bank and brokerage account statements; 3) keep track of medical expenses or 4) keep track of your spending.  Choose only one or two goals from this list this month, so it will not be overwhelming.  Next month add something else.  Before you realize it, you will have gone a long way towards organizing your finances.
