| Give the Gift of...Tuition |
As you think about your year-end giving plans, we hope you will consider making a donation toward a student's tuition at LYDIA Urban Academy. This may seem like a unusual request-after all, Christmas is a time that many high schoolers hope to receive an iPod or new Nikes. But for students at LUA, the best gift of all would be the assurance that they can continue attending classes and working toward their diploma. Without that, what good is a new pair of Nikes, after all?
If you are able to help, please give online or send a check to LYDIA at 4300 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, 60641, attn: Erica Dorantes. Be sure to write "LUA tuition" on the memo line of your check.

| A Mother's View of LUA |

The public school system here in Chicago can be a daunting place for high school students these days. For a student who may be struggling with a class or subject matter, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. There is just not enough time in the day for any single teacher to attend to every student's needs. Students with problems aren't often recognized until it is too late to salvage a class or salvage a year of their studies, often pushing graduation so far into the future that they feel they can't ever make it. So, they drop out.
However, that's where a school like LYDIA Urban Academy becomes a place of hope. CLICK TO READ MORE
