Include LYDIA in Your Year-End Giving Plan

This has been such a busy yet fruitful year at LYDIA, and it's essential that our financial support keeps pace. Our children, teens and families are depending on it!

"When my apartment flooded in 2010, we lost everything. Safe Families stepped in and provided housing for my two kids while I tried to put our lives back together. To this day, I keep in close contact with one of the families that helped us. It means a lot to know that my children have a special place in their heart."

Tracey, Safe Families client

We encourage you to include LYDIA in your year-end giving plans. You can donate online or send a check to LYDIA at 4300 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, 60614 (attention: Sylvia Ortiz). You may also  become a monthly donor through electronic funds transfer, please contact Sylvia at (773) 653-2223 or by email.

We also remind you to check your employer's matching gifts policy, which can mean even more financial support for LYDIA!

Safe Families Helps One Mom Recover from Devastating Injuries

In January 2011, Tabetha was the victim of a hit and run. She survived after four months in the hospital, but lost both of her legs above the knee. That alone is overwhelming, but there's more: Tabby is raising a five-year-old and three-year-old twins alone.

Tabby made the difficult decision this summer to place her twins with Safe Families in Indianapolis for a few months. This will allow her to sort out some things at home and in her own life. Every day is difficult, but Tabby's priority is making sure that her girls thrive. When asked where her strength comes from, she instantly says, "My kids. I want them to know that, no matter what, I love them." CLICK TO READ FULL STORY
