Whee! It's officially summer! (Or is that 'unofficially'? Heck, it's after Memorial Day--we think that's pretty darn official!) We had such a wonderful weekend at the shop--between the fabulous Jill June trunk show, a fun Saturday morning Open Knitting and saying hello to so many customers making their first pilgrimage north for the season, it was tremendous start to the summer season.

If you haven't heard of Madelinetosh, you're in for a wonderful treat. (And for those of you who have, it's
finally here!) We are so excited to announce that our very first shipment of
Tosh Merino Light has entered the building! Handpainted in small, custom-dyed batches, Tosh Merino Light comes to us from the Texas-based company Madelinetosh and is well-known for their exquisite, industry-shaping color combinations and fiber blends. We've been waiting for this order (
40 colors!) since the end of February and it has already been flying out of here. We are expecting another order to arrive in another few weeks, along with a huge order of Pashmina, a beautiful
100% superwash Merino

6.5-7.5 sts per inch on US 1-2 needles
Tosh Merino Light is a 100% superwash merino wool, single-ply fingering weight yarn. With a generous 420 yards per skein, one skein is more than enough yardage to complete a pair of socks and two skeins can complete a full-sized lace project. Each incredibly soft skein is hand-dyed in small dye lots and perfect for baby projects, shawls and lightweight sweaters.
Machine or hand wash cool. Lay flat to dry.

Summer is such an exciting time at the shop! New yarns, gifts and kits are trickling in every week--to prepare for Northern Michigan's busy summer season. Some of these treats will be making it to the website, but some of them are so unique that they won't. (It's too hard to manage some of this special inventory both online
