Hello there, knitters!
So you've knit hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters and socks....now what? Have you ever thought of knitting for your home? Sure, you've got baskets of yarn (and unfinished projects!) around the house to serve as "décor", but why not try knitting your own decorating accents? Basically two super-chunky square pieces with buttonholes, these pillows are great projects for beginners and a pair makes a heartfelt wedding gift for a special couple. We love this simple, "Up North" look--and with wooden buttons made in Michigan, these pillows fit into almost every style, from urban folk to rustic cabin.
This particular pattern is written for both circular and flat knitting to accomodate those of you who like knitting in the round--and those of you who don't.

A Quick-Knit Pillow Kit
 Over the past several months, I've been reconnecting to all things related to the home, spending my evenings cooking, baking, canning, organizing and most recently, prettying my space. I'm in the middle of sprucing up my living room and I realized I'd really like some new throw pillows. And then I thought, why buy new pillows? Why not knit them? Using a bulky yarn doubled and very large needles, this pillow knit up in a few short hours. (Perfect, I thought!) It's knit with an undyed, light brown wool that works as a neutral canvas for any color scheme. To me, it's important to surround oneself with art, momentos and keepsakes that have a story, so finishing these pillows off with Michigan-made wooden buttons was the um, natural choice. Double perfect. Each of these kits comes with a unique three-button set in beautiful woods like maple, walnut and cherry (the sample's shown in English Yew) and they're all just a little bit different. Even more special. This pattern also requires US 13 straight OR 24" circular needles, which are not included in the kit.
