Hiya, knitters!
Another week has flown by--can you believe it's the middle of May already?!? Thank you again to all of you who have been so diligently knitting away--the 30 Under $30 series has been a huge success! While some of these patterns will be added to the shop's year-round collection, many of these kits are limited editions--take advantage while they're still available!

Just a reminder about our upcoming Trunk Show on Memorial Day Weekend--read below for more details....
On Saturday, May 28th from 5-9 p.m., we'll be hosting our annual Memorial Day weekend party. This year is especially sweet for me--it marks my five-year anniversary! So to make things extra-special, we're bringing in an extra-special treat: a trunk-show from the internationally-acclaimed Michigan dyer, Sarah Dimond--more affectionately known as The Plucky Knitter!
Sarah's beautiful yarns are subtle and tonal, perfect for showing off cables and lace, or even acres of stockinette. The yarn bases are comprised of both sturdy workhorse yarns and exquisite blends, typically including merino, silk, cashmere, seacell--her following is so widespread that a typical update will wipe out an entire Etsy shop within minutes! A trunk show is the only place to see and fondle Plucky yarns all together in one place--this is a truly one-of-a-kind event that you'll can't afford to miss.
As we get closer to Memorial Day Weekend, you'll be receiving more information on the evening--stay tuned!

Here's a bit more information for those of you who are new to our 30 Projects for $30 (And Under!):
Over the next six weeks, we'll be bringing you ideas for small-scale projects that are affordable, easy-to-knit and that would make lovely gifts for almost anyone on your list. As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, we tend to spend a little less time with our knitting and more time outside. The 30 Projects are perfect for spring knitting--lightweight, small and easy to knit. Even if you only have time for a few rows every night, you don't have to abandon your knitting until fall! We're certain that with 30 projects, there will be something for everyone. We're so excited to share these projects with you--enjoy!

The sun has really worked its magic over the past week--the cherry blossoms are starting to explode. All I can think about lately are the food delights to come--sweet, ripe cherries in July, juicy tomato salads and this weekend, the 8th Annual Empire Asparagus Fest. Maybe this year I'll brave the asparagus beer--with an asparagus brat on the side!

 The Gretel hat is a beret featuring a lattice cable pattern worked in a worsted-weight yarn. The pattern is given for three different styles to create a traditional fitted beret shape, a slouchy snood-like shape and a style somewhere in-between the other two (pictured). 18. Nutkin Socks | |
 Nutkin is an easy to memorize pattern with dramatic results. Although the pattern includes many YOs, the sock does not appear lacey. Great for subtle striping yarns. This pattern is simple to knit (with both written and charted instructions), easy to memorize (if you're so inclined!) and best of all, it's free! For all of you Ravelry fans out there (and who isn't, really?!?), this is the color Ravelry Red.
