Week Eight.....can it be? And next week, Thanksgiving?!? I know so many of you have really been working hard to meet your knitting goals--keep up the brilliant work! Those of you who aren't quite there, don't worry! You've got five solid weeks until Christmas Eve--still plenty of time to create something special.
This week's project is for the tiniest of toes. One of my favorite things to do (when I can!) is knit for the new babies in my life--nieces, nephews and all my high school and college friends that are starting families. This pattern is one that I created to showcase the exquisite, one-of-a-kind sock yarns that are available everywhere, and this one highlights one of my newest favorites at the shop, Malabrigo Sock. Knit a pair of these for your niece's baby shower and you'll be the highlight of the party.

The Littlest Elf
Booties are a perennial favorite among knitters and this pattern is one of my favorite gifts for new moms. They're knit with beautiful sock yarn and although the stitches are tiny, there aren't too many--these booties knit up in just a few short evenings. Meant to fit a six-month babe, the I-cord ties are threaded through an eyelet round, staying put on tiny toes. And best of all? They're machine-washable.
*Please note: The yarn used for these booties, Malabrigo Sock, is hand painted. Like all artisan yarns, each skein is different, even throughout the same 'dyelot'. It's one of the delights of knitting with handpainted yarn--no two projects are exactly the same! The color I used for the sample, #480 Indiecita, is especially variegated. Some skeins are more green, some more blue and others still are on the purple side. They're all beautiful, but if you have a strong preference toward one color or another, please leave a message in the 'Notes to Seller' section of your Paypal invoice, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
