Volunteer Spotlight 98A Campus
Serving roles: Greeter, on the home visitation team, a key leader in the senior's ministry, and a tour co-ordinator -taking seniors on tours, locally, nationally, and around the world.
Occupation: Retired after 40 years as a Radio /TV Broadcaster, Public Relations Specialist with Syncrude, and the Manager of the Membership Division of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.
Family: Wife Amber, two sons, three stepdaughters, one stepson, and 12 grandchildren.
What do you love about serving? Meeting people, socializing, and making them feel welcome to Beulah. Also I love hugging the seniors, for many of them are so lonely. How do you connect with God? Through prayer and reading the scriptures. What's your favourite Scripture? For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 and Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children." Matthew 19:14
Where did you grow up? Bethune, Saskatchewan and Regina, Saskatchewan.
What's your all time favourite movie? None, but anything that entertains and makes me laugh because laughter is good for the soul.
What are you passionate about? History, geography, and traveling.
What is your idea of a perfect day? Temperatures under 25 degrees, sunshine and a cool breeze, sitting in our yard watching the birds. A life-changing book? The Bible What's your favourite restaurant? Tony Roma's and McDonalds.
What's the best advice you've ever received? Red Skelton told me in an interview..."Take your next breath". |
