Reaching Our Youth for Christ
"The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is bringing a huge event to Edmonton this summer and we get to play a significant part in it," says Chet Kennedy, Beulah's Lead Youth Pastor.
Each year, Franklin Graham conducts youth and young adult evangelistic events around the world and on August 28 the Rock the River concert event is coming to Hawrelak Park.

What's your occupation? Digital Camera Instructor, Travel Writer/Photographer, Novelist.
What do you love about what you do? A eureka moment when a student's eyes light up and the student says, "Ohhh!"
How do you connect with God? I've known God since I was very young; connecting between Him and me is second nature. It's not something I strive to do. I am always bothering him with my questions, my irritations, and my joy.
What's your favourite scripture or inspirational quote? I don't have one really. But I love the story in John (Chapter 17 vs. 20-26) where Jesus, in spite of being under terrible stress, prays for believers. In that moment, I think (because He could), He said my name. Made me fall to my knees, weeping.
Where did you grow up? I am an ex-Manitoba farm girl, and a teen runaway, so I grew up in the Manitoba countryside and on the streets of Winnipeg.
Spring evokes? A desire to run and be free, to capture the perfect photograph, to enjoy the sun on my face, and the scent in the air.
What are you passionate about? Capturing a moment from my world with my camera, exploring a new country, meeting new people, and venturing into the unknown (that's my favourite).
What is your idea of a perfect day? Hanging out with a fellow photographer, and sharing the excitement of finding and then capturing a perfect image.
A life-changing book: A Voice in the Wind, by Francine Rivers - Hadassah became my hero. In fact, my online presence has been Hadassah28 for the past 15 years.
What's your favourite thing about Edmonton and/or restaurant? That's easy. The buffet in the River Cree Casino - quality similar to any Vegas buffet. Favourite thing about Edmonton? Fantastic sunsets.
What's the best advice you've ever received? I read Psalms every day; I take advice from a warrior - King David - I love his psalms best. He is so up front about his angst, his anger, his joy, and his passions. Makes me feel comfortable about expressing myself boldly and without reservation. |
