Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in the the Roannais!
Yes. We were definitely not going to be left out of the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations here in France, so Purefrancenow invited some of our close French friends to enjoy the festivities with us in true British style!A little bizarre you may think for the French to celebrate with us, but as we enjoy many of their special national and regional events throughout the year we felt it a great opportunity to display the British spirit on such an important historical milestone of the Queen's 60-year reign.

64th Criterium du Dauphine Cycle Race rides into the Roannais. 
The peloton headed on 6th June north past Lyon to the small commune of La Clayette, virtually right past our front door here in the Roannais!We were there giving our British Support and waving our Jubilee flags to the all the Sky Procycling Team and Bradley Wiggins, in particular, as they whizzed past. Great fun!_____________________________________________________________ Summer Fun in Lyon!
Lyon is a lively city and, as you'd expect, hosts a number of festivals, cultural and sporting events, and fairs throughout the year.
Look out for local magazines and guides, which regularly publish an up-to-date listing of forthcoming events in Lyon.The city's tourist office is also a good source of information on things to do.
Many of the larger international shows and trade fairs take place in Lyon's exhibition centre, Eurexpo.
