Common Entry Points for Burglaries
Exterior Doors
Many residential doors are constructed hollow and have poor quality locks. These are easily forced or kicked open, especially if the deadbolt lock is going into a wood door frame. The wood door frame will splinter. For additional protection, you need good quality locks and security doors protecting the doors. The deadbolt lock goes directly into the steel security screen door frame to ensure it can't be kicked in.
Arcadia Doors
Many burglars enter homes through improperly secured arcadia doors. Additional locks and security measures will prevent the door from being opened, broken, or lifted out of the track. French or Arcadia security doors will prevent prevent the door from being lifted out of the track or the glass from being accessed and broken.
Double French Doors
These doors need solid security as they are easily jimmied or forced open. Flush bolts installed at the top and bottom of the doors are recommended. These bolts should be mounted into a solid steel frame to ensure there would be no splintering of wood. Inagural bolts ensure the primary moving side is accessible, but the secondary door is always secured and in place.
Doors with Windows or Sidelights
Doors with glass windows glass ornamentation or sidelights require double cylinder key deadbolt lock. This means the door is opened only with a key, and from both sides of the lock. This prevents the burglar from breaking the glass and reaching inside to unlock the door.
Garage Doors
Standard locks on garage doors are easily pried, allowing a burglar access to your home without detection. Cane bolts and hasps are excellent protection. Make certain each side of the garage door is secured to prevent prying open a crawl space. Any door leading from the garage into the house should be securely locked. The more barriers you provide against the burglar, the better protected you are.
Windows
Windows should be given the same security treatment as arcadia doors. Use the same lag bolts, and steel frames to protect windows from becoming an entrance for intruders. Window guards installed on windows will prevent the window from being lifted out of the track, or the glass broken in the case of an invasion. Quick release buttons are available for emergency situations. Quick release buttons are accessible from the inside of the home and allow you to quickly escape in a fire or other disaster. | |

Community Defense Program
First Impression Security Doors, Inc. created the "Community Defense Program" to break misconceptions about security, inform the public about their options and preventative measures, as well as to bring the community together in an effort to fight against home invasions and burglaries.
Often we have found that our clients come to us after they have been victimized. The initial reaction is in reference to the value or dollar amount taken from them, or the personal items which were priceless and irreplaceable. But the frequent underlying message is that after someone has violated their home, they no longer feel safe there. There is doubt and insecurity, and the comfort of being "home" is blemished. Motivated by the horror stories, we became determined to be a part of the solution. Join us in being the solution, creating safer environments, looking out for your neighbor, and protecting your assets.
If you have created a neighborhood watch program, that's a great start to protecting you and your community. Topics covered in the "Community Defense Program" will include myths and misconceptions in security, security products, as well as regular maintenance and preventative measures. There are no associated costs or obligations. Taking the initiative to educate yourself on the risks and hidden dangers will give you insight to know what to look for. You have to know the enemy you're up against to take a proactive defense. We feel that by providing the information we can reduce the statistics, and create the world we all want to live in.
First Impression Security Doors is extending the offer to provide security seminars for your neighborhood. If interested, please contact (480) 320-4975 or catherinehumphrey@fisd.biz for more information. |

What Our Customers Are Saying
"Your company was the only company that really paid attention to our needs. Your company immediately understood what we were trying to do. We have a neighbor/friend who said the same things-good word of mouth.
We had a project from hell-a deck that was put onto the back of our house and it took much longer than expected. You had already made up the doors and had to wait to install the back one for 6 months.
But your company was always very nice. After the deck was done, your company came out and installed it. I just thought you guys were so incredible, because no one else would have put up with it and had such a great sense of humor about it.
The doors are absolutely gorgeous and I'm really delighted."
