Make Water Safety a Priority This Spring
As the weather warms up in the spring, it's a great time to check your pool area for dangers. We recommend a monthly check of the entire area to ensure you prevent unnecessary injuries to family members or friends. 300 children under the age of five drown in residential and public pools and spas every year, and thousands suffer submersion accidents which can cause permanent disabilities. Although there is no way to ensure complete safety, staying cognizant of the dangers will help you avoid unnecessary risks.
Preventative Measures
-
First and foremost, children around water require constant supervision.
-
Learn to swim and teach your children how to swim.
-
Completely fence the entire pool with self-closing gates. Consider using Magna Latches on gates to child proof.
-
If the house forms the fourth side of the barrier, install alarms and security doors leading to the pool area to prevent children from wandering into the pool or spa. Also install safety covers and either perimeter or in-water alarms as additional layers of protection.
-
Keep an eye out for hidden dangers. Drains or suction entrapments with broken, missing, or faulty covers can entrap hair, the body, limbs, jewelry and clothing. Children ages 5-9 had the highest frequency of entrapments.
-
Keep chemicals stored at all times in a locked area or in a closet out of the reach of children.

In the event an accident occurs, ensure you are prepared to react quickly and minimize the threat.
Be Prepared
-
Get training in basic water rescue skills, first aid, CPR
-
Have rescue and first aid equipment available at the pool, including a floatation device.
-
Keep a phone at the pool |

What Our Customers Are Saying
Hello everyone!!
I couldn't wait to write this email . . . my door is absolutely FanTasTic!! Your employees are outstanding . . . from Ray French, the salesman, to the phone gal through Jonathan Martinez, the installer!! I am an ESM member and plan to tout your door, your employees and your service in person at one of our meetings!! The ESM discount was superb and sealed the sale!!
Ray French was very knowledgable and presented your doors in a professional yet very friendly manner. He took the time to meet us at your facility and not only explained your doors in depth, but understood our needs and met them completely. My First Impression sold me on your company and your product!!
When I phoned to confirm our installation, the young lady I spoke with was very pleasant, professional and excited to know that I planned to express my pleasure with your entire process in an email. Jonathan Martinez called ahead to confirm his arrival time and worked diligently to install the door, clean up, ensure my dogs didn't escape and that I was happy with both the door and the installation. Each and every person I came into contact with was proud to be a part of First Impressions and their doors! I LOVE MY NEW DOOR!!
