Study Investigates Potential of Cycling to Reduce Emissions
The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) recently released a study that quantified emissions savings of cycling compared with other modes of transport. According to the study, if EU citizens were to cycle as much as the Danes in 2000, (an average of 2.6km a day), it would help the EU meet more than a quarter of the targeted emission reductions for the transport sector. History Channel's Call for Bicyclists for New Show
The History Channel's producers, who created the show American Pickers, are making a new show named Top Pickers. This new show will feature Picker Teams who will compete for the best pics, ultimately earning the title of Top Pickers and a big cash prize! For this run of the show they are interested in finding a team of cyclists who are also interested in picking. They are searching specifically for bicyclists who are energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about collecting. Picking Teams should be able to spot hidden treasures, know how to flip items for profit and pick better than anyone they know. Interested candidates can apply by e-mailing pickercasting@cineflix.com ASAP with a description of you and your picking partner, your area(s) of expertise, your contact information, and a recent photo.

The 'Bucks for Bikes' program, which began in 2006 with just 44 bikes, raised $26,000 to purchase the bikes directly from Huffy's California plant. See photos. With the newest Angel Giving Tree Online system, it's extremely easy for you to help a family who is struggling to provide both the basics and the fun stuff this Christmas season.
