Welcome to our end of August Newsletter. Once again, it has been a very busy summer - especially August. Not only have we had our normal holiday makers touring the island, but we have also had a large number of cruise ships visiting our sunny shores.
With a record number of 5 ships anchored on the same day, this brought thousands of tourists, many of whom passed by our offices to enquire about the property market here in Greece. Just how much of a gamble is investing in property these days? Some experts are saying that investing in property is just as safe, in the long term, as it ever was, especially in certain areas. New reports though are suggesting that Greece is about as safe as you can get.
In a property article published on the website write-about-property.com, it is reported that Greece has been recommended as one of the safest destinations in Europe for property investment. According to overseas property specialists Azure Overseas, Greece's popularity in terms of history and tourism will ensure long term capital growth.
Azure director Frank Crowley says, "The important landmarks will prevent over-development in those regions, and the country's importance in Europe will ensure property prices grow over the long term. Also tourism to Greece has grown massively in the last few years, and will continue to do so. This means that rental yields in the country are strong and growing."
Forecasters predict that growth will return to Greek property next year, at an annual rate of 10%, rental yields have been unwavering even this year at 6-8% on quality holiday property," Frank added.
