Nature Walk

Saturday, June 16

9 to 11 a.m. Scarlett Tanager

Fred Archibald Nature Sanctuary

The nature walk will lead us through forests and meadows in the 140-acre Fred Archibald Audubon Sanctuary. At this season of the year, birds are extremely active, building nests and feeding their young. We will probably see birds such as Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Purple Martins, and House Wrens using nest boxes, and many others in the meadows and adjoining forests.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the entrance to the sanctuary, which is on the east side of Boyer's Mill Road, one mile north of Rte. 144 in New Market. Wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for the predicted weather. There are no rest room facilities at the sanctuary, and the walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. For more information contact Dave or Elaine Pardoe at 410-381-0449 or dhpardoe@verizon.net, or see the Audubon web site.
