Signs of Spring Nature Walk

Audrey Carroll Sanctuary

Saturday, March 17th 9:00-11:00

Marsh Marigold

A Nature Walk at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary near Mt. Airy will be sponsored by the Audubon Society of Central Maryland. We will follow a new but faint trail through the forest, getting to some rarely visited parts of the sanctuary. We will be looking for signs of spring, from swelling buds on trees to early spring migrant birds. Bluebirds will probably be laying claim to the nest boxes.

People of all ages are welcome.  Meet at 9 a.m. at the entry gate to the sanctuary at 13030 Old Annapolis Road (just east of Detrick Road) in Mt. Airy. No rest room facilities are available, and the walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

For further information contact Bob Schaefer at 301-831-5660 or robert.schaefer@gmail.com, or see the Audubon web site at www.centralmdaudubon.org.

2012 Native Plant Sale

Audrey Carroll Sanctuary

Saturday, April 28th, 9:00-2:00

We're heading into March, and signs that Spring is coming are increasing every day. Of course, one sure sign of Spring is the announcement of our upcoming ASCM Native Plant Sale!

The planting season will be here before you know it, so now's the time to start planning for additions, improvements (and any needed repairs after Winter's ravages) in your own native plant habitat.

The ASCM 2012 Native Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2011. We'll open at 9:00 AM sharp, rain or shine, and wrap up at 2:00 PM.

This will be our 14th annual sale, and our volunteers are well into planning an event that's bigger and better than ever!

As always, the sale will be held on the grounds of the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary, 13030 Old Annapolis Road, just west of the town of Mount Airy, Maryland. (Click here for a map and directions.)

Do you have questions about the Native Plant Sale?

Click here to send us an email. We'll be happy to assist.

And our commitment to help you with your native plant and habitat development efforts carries on through to the day of the sale, where we will have Master Gardeners and extensive reference materials available for consultations.

Keep your eye out for our post card reminder in your mailbox, and be sure to check back here for updates as the Native Plant Sale date approaches.

To our loyal Native Plant Sale patrons, Thank You! for your wonderful support of our past sales! We look forward to welcoming you back again. And to our new customers, here's an insider's tip: Come Early for Best Selection!
