More than 20 possibilities to study English at KGIC
Catering to the individual student is a top priority at KGIC, and for that reason you will not simply be an intermediate or an advanced learner put into classes that are either too difficult or not challenging enough.
KGIC's unique flexible system targets, our student's specific language levels in each subject area: Gramma r, Reading & Writing, Listening, and Communications & Pronunciation.
Let's say your strength is Grammar and our weakness is Communications. In this case you may be in level 2 Grammar and level 4 Communications at the same time and that's ok!
This is how KGIC customizes your education to best fit your learning needs. With 7 different levels (foundations class and Levels 1-6, Beginner to Advanced) and 2-3 months of material to learn in each level, the options are endless - well, almost endless.
Be an individual, get the help you need...study at KGIC!

Attend University in Canada?...Yes You Can!
 | KGIC University Pathway Brochure |
If you goal is to continue your studies at a post-secondary institution, in Canada, then KGIC's "English for Post-Secondary Education" (EPE) may be an essential course to add to your curriculum. The EPE course is the official Pathway Program at KGIC and upon successful completion students will be granted acceptance at certain Colleges and Universities across Canada and the United States without needing additional official language proficiency test scores.
Halifax recently launched their EPE program and just completed their first run. All students reported dramatic improvements in their academic abilities, especially in reading and writing.

These skills will be put to good use as all of the successful graduates from EPE wish to attend one of our partner Universities on the East Coast: St Mary's, Mount Saint Vincent and University of Prince Edward Island. EPE gets graduates direct entry into St Mary's, The University of Prince Edward Islands undergrad programs and entry into the UBP (University Bridging Program) at Mount Saint Vincent for undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Staff and Teachers at KGIC Halifax would like to wish their recent grads every success in their future studies at University. There is no doubt that they will be successful.

Updates from "Career World English"
Levels 4,5 and 6 English curriculum at KGIC
The Career World Series curriculum has arrived at KGIC and many students and teachers are excited to be a part of its first months of use. By the end of September, new textbooks will be used in all Level 4-6 classes.
Grammar 4, 5 and 6 ensure students build on a strong base knowledge in order to fully comprehend the important rules of specific grammar points while also expanding on common exceptions to help build overall fluency. Understanding these lesser known rules also assist students in their speaking, writing and editing skills so that they can apply them in real world situations and their future academic studies.
The new textbooks for Reading and Writing 4-6 emphasize both content and skill development. Many of the articles were written by professional journalists and contain high-level vocabulary with challenging comprehension questions and projects. The writing assignments provide opportunities for students to develop their writing skills in different genres necessary for Business English and university success.

Career World Series Listening 4, 5 and 6 make use of innovative approaches for learning this essential skill. Challenging activities and tasks improve the ability of students to understand the world around them both inside and beyond the classroom. An increased focus on technology including video and current podcasts helps students to engage with relevant materials that are
already a part of their daily lives.

Simply put, the new Communications 4-6 courses get people talking. Many original topics create a great amount of conversation that allows students to gain experience with a lot of new vocabulary. Structured practice activities also help improve accuracy and all books include an all new pronunciation section to help students with specific letter sounds as well as sentence and word stress.
Each textbook of the Career World Series has been designed to resemble a magazine. This truly makes learning more enjoyable as the balance of text and image is sure to help multiple types of learners on their path of learning English.
