Advanced Esalen Offered Saturday and Sunday, December 5th & 6th, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 In this class, learn Esalen massage, an exquisite, eclectic, body-mind-spirit form, grounded in Swedish but borrowing freely from other forms of massage such as Energy, Thai and Trigger Point. Saturday morning will include a review of the principles learned in Intro to Esalen. The rest of our time together will consist of demonstration and practice of specific detail work that may be incorporated into an Esalen massage or, for that matter, any type of massage. More than twenty-five techniques will be presented and practiced, many adapted from Thai massage.Students will be encouraged to try them all, then focus on those that have the most appeal to each individual. Bring your ideas, experiences, expertise and questions. A lively, interactive group will make this a much more successful and enjoyable class. Course Supplies Needed: one set of linens, massage lotion or cream, one hand towel, one pillow case.

Prerequisite: It is recommended that students first take Intro to Esalen or have other Esalen experience, however all massage therapists are welcome.
About the Instructor:
Ed Odell has been studying massage at the renowned Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, since 1990. He studied Thai massage in both the United States and Thailand. Since 1998, Ed has been a certified Esalen bodyworker and is a member of the Esalen Massage and Bodywork Association. Mr. Odell is a certified Esalen bodyworker, the only one in the Kansas City area.
