Complimentary Breakfast Worldwide
In Scandinavia, breakfast is normally included in the price of your hotel stay.
Now, starting in 2009, complimentary breakfast will be offered in many of the nicer hotels all over the world when you book with Sweden by Siv, a member of the Signature Travel Network of companies. (Already, 33 hotels -- 17 in Hawaii and 16 in the Caribbean -- have signed on. That number will grow to over 600 in 2009.) Ask me about our other Signature amenities.

Greetings!
My favorite season has begun. I want to share with you some
of the enjoyable activities that enliven the fall and winter months in
Scandinavia. The days may be getting shorter but the fun doesn't miss a beat!
The cultural season, especially in the Five
Capitals, goes into full swing in September. The Northern Lights appear more clearly in the darker fall sky. Sporting,
hiking, eco-tours, and other outdoor activities are abundant and affordable in
this quieter season. Call me for interesting fall-winter travel ideas.
Tzell Travel Group, of which Sweden by Siv is an affiliate,
has merged with Travel Acquisitions Group. Combined we are now the fourth
largest agency group in the U.S. Think of the leverage that gives us. It means
more of all the things you've come to know us for: exceptional business fares,
comprehensive hotel programs, and access to the many services offered by our
travel-related partners. We have a wider reach -- and you have more options.
Yours in travel, SIV WADLIN

Scandinavia in the fall: cultural, festive, and business-friendly
|
It's a perfect time to discover the Five Capitals. There are excellent city packages to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, and Reykjavik, and a lot to do once you're there: art exhibits, music festivals, historic places, fine dining, and much more.
Why not combine business with pleasure? Business travelers and event planners choose Scandinavia for their meetings because they know the Scandinavian countries are among the most tech savvy and business-friendly in the world.
Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure -- or a little of both -- Scandinavia is a perfect destination.
ICELAND's rugged, moonscape terrain is quite unique on this earth. You can explore it by hiking, snowmobile, kayak, or horseback, and enjoy outdoor swimming year round in the hot springs that dot the island. Iceland's nightlife, which picks up speed in the fall months, offers a great way to unwind after a day of business meetings.
NORWAY is a
completely magical outdoors destination. Spend time in its mountains and fjords
and feel instantly renewed. Oslo has musical performances throughout the fall
season. December brings the Nobel Peace Prize festivities. This year, for the first time ever, hotels in Spitsbergen will stay open for Christmas. Imagine spending your Christmas near the North Pole, and maybe even going on a polar bear safari.
SWEDEN has an abundance of untouched lands waiting for you to explore. Try the Abisko National Park in Swedish Lapland, where the Sami people still herd reindeer. Christmas shop in the Glass Kingdom.
Looking for a unique romantic experience? Outdoor weddings are frequently performed at the Ice Hotel, under the twinkling stars of the polar night.
FINLAND can be
easily reached from Sweden by ferry, passing through beautiful archipelagos along the way. Helsinki's style is very modern with distinct Russian influences. I recommend a trip to Turku, the oldest city and original capital of Finland, which has an interesting history and culture. The child in you will love Santa's Village in Rovaniemi, above the Arctic Circle.
DENMARK is rated by British social psychologist Adrian White as the happiest place on earth. Along with its high quality of life, Denmark is also a fun place to be, especially in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Copenhagen has outstanding shopping in jewelry, china, and fine art. Odense, the home town of Hans Christian Andersen, who gave the world Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, and other immortal fairy tales, is charming and full of history. For Shakespeare and castle enthusiasts, Hamlet's Castle, in Elsinore, is a must-see.
There is no shortage of fascinating places to go and things to do in Scandinavia. Let me help you plan your next trip. Contact sivw@tzell.com. |
