 Wednesday, May 9: Temperature

Focus: Revelation 3:14-18- We can't be lukewarm
Emphasis: How do you reheat something? By moving it back to a heat source. How do we get spiritually reheated? By moving back to God. Tonight is an opportunity to reheat our fire.

100 needed for Stop Hunger Now

You will want to bring your family to be a part of this missions opportunity coming to Getwell on Wednesday, May 30 from 6:15-7:15 PM as we welcome representatives from the international relief organization, "Stop Hunger Now." Stop Hunger Now is driven by a vision of a world without hunger and a mission to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources. Their meal packaging program provides volunteers, like us, the opportunity to package dehydrated, high protein, and highly nutritious meals that are used in crisis situations and in school feeding programs for schools and orphanages in developing countries around the world.

Our goal is to have 100 people on hand on May 30 and in doing so we will be able to pack 15,000 bags in one hour!  Don't miss your opportunity to take part in this event. Nursery provided for children birth-4 years. Donations are being accepted to help fund the packages which are 25-cents each. Mark donations "Stop Hunger Now."

Nursery's Summer Play Days

The nursery ministry will host summer play days on May 30, June 1, 4, 6 & 8! Playtime will be from 9AM to 12:30PM on each of these days. Registration is now open for everyone - visit our website here to register

This year playtime is limited to 2 year olds through 5 year olds, and we will not be having lunch. This is a total of 5 days for $80.00. We will provide fun games and activities along with a snack for the children. Full payment holds a place for your child and you must pre-register. The registration deadline is May 25th for everyone. Space is limited!  If you have questions, please email Cheryl Boone at the address above.

Don't forget! May is service commitment month

This past Sunday was another strong week of returns on 2012-2013 Service Commitment cards. We are currently up to 300 volunteers committing to serve in at least 15 different areas of ministry. Last year we reached 518 and this year we have a goal of reaching at least 600. We are half way there! If you have not yet had a chance to complete your commitment card, it is so easy to do. We have an online form  you can access by clicking here. This will take you to our website where you can complete your commitment card in just a few minutes. Service Commitment cards will be available again this Sunday during both worship services where they can be completed and dropped in baskets as you leave worship. There are also five locations across the campus where you can pick up a commitment card, complete it, and return it to the same location: Information Center, Fellowship Hall, 3rd Place, Nursery check-in desk, and Children's check-in desk. Don't miss out on your opportunity to Step Up, Serve, and Live it!

Honduras Mission Team shares stories

Our Honduras Mission Team will tell you they left a little piece of their heart in Honduras with the children of the Good Shepherd Children's Home. In honor of their service, we will share a story of one child from the Good Shepherd home each week in Crosswire, and archive them on our website. This week we meet Brenda Carolina. Read about his and how you can "adopt" her, or another child at the home, here.
