Operation Christmas Child

Shoeboxes are still available for this program. Pick up yours this Sunday in the lobby! Bring them back (do not wrap them) on or before November 20. A flyer explaining everything to put in your box will be inside the boxes. Our goal as a church is to fill 550 shoeboxes!

Follow your box! Click on the logo above to find out how you can follow your box to see where it lands! By paying your shipping cost online ($7), you get a special rcode basticker for your box that indicates postage has been paid. It also will be tracked the entire time and you can log on and follow your box until it lands in the hands of a child somewhere in the world.

Last year over 8 Million children received shoeboxes in over 130 Countries across the world.  The mission is: "To demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ."  Click here to learn more about this ministry.

Grand Opening at Damascus Road

Over the last year, many from Getwell Road have had the high honor of volunteering their time at Damascus Road Residential Center helping the owner, Sharon Paige, prepare for this upcoming Grand Opening. It has been a long-time dream of Sharon to open this facility to help troubled teens in the Memphis area receive the counseling and support they need to get back on their feet and work hard to become productive members of our society. Sharon is very passionate about this ministry and she is looking forward to her first occupants in 2012. Volunteers from Getwell Road have helped this dream become a reality through their servant hearts and she invites you all to come out, along with many local and state dignitaries, to help celebrate this special occasion. Grand Opening ceremonies will take place at Damascus Road Residential Center, Friday, November 11th, 1:00 PM at 2491 Joy Lane in Memphis.

Each year we join other area churches in helping the Samaritans fill Thanksgiving baskets for area families in need. This year our donation is macaroni and cheese. We need 200 boxes. Place your donation in the Samaritan's Box in the lobby.  Deadline: Sunday, November 13
