This past Sunday, Sept 18th, the New Young Married Class led by David & Mary Kylie Ruff dedicated this month's class event in honor of Brenton Montgomery, who will deploy to Afghanistan on October 1st. The backyard BBQ dinner was complete with a banner that read, "We've Got Your Back," proudly showing the support of Brenton's Getwell Road family. Captain Brenton Montgomery is the commander of the 288th Sapper Company from Houston, MS. He and 95 other soldiers will serve a 12-month deploment. Please keep Brenton, along with other Getwell members and family who serve our country, in your prayers!

SEE YOU AT THE POLE. I know many of your kids will be participating at their schools' "See You At The Pole" on Wednesday, September 28th.  To conclude this global day of student prayer, we would like celebrate with at time of student worship beginning at 6:30pm that night in the chapel here at Getwell Road.  Please encourage your kids them to bring friends from their school that night as we are praying for this day to be something much bigger than what happens just at the local campus.  We are praying for a movement that will spread.  As a church, we have the incredible responsibility to help our students continue to "fan the flame" of passion to reach their generation and world for Christ, and that is what we are going to continue to boldly pursue.  This year's SYATP theme is "Converge", and is based on the promise of Matthew 18:20, "Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you" (CEV).  May God be glorified and may every school be unified for Him in DeSoto County and beyond!
