Greetings!
Happy Summer!
With the real meaning of the July 4th celebration still fresh in mind, be sure to read Peter's latest blog, THIS FOURTH OF JULY: A Plea for Ingenuity, LIBERTY and the Pursuit of Innovation. Peter's Fast Company blog highlights the packaging innovation challenges facing the CPG industry and provides his Seven Step Solution for Success. Check it out and feel free to send us your thoughts.
We are so pleased that our recent product design work on the Petrol Bags™ Cambio Camera Carrier design has been selected to receive the International Design Excellence Award (IDEA). This recognition enables us to continue to pursue our mission in helping to shape brands to enhance consumers' lives.
Speaking of being noticed, the new Summer's EveŽ package will be getting lots of attention with the launch of their "Hail to the V" advertising campaign. Product Ventures worked with Summer's EveŽ to help reinvigorate the brand through the identification of structural design opportunities, which now embody a refreshingly feminine elegance.
In September, we are cutting the ribbon on a new imagineering facility, with additional space and equipment to further enhance our prototyping capabilities. The larger format CNC milling and finishing equipment, will increase our speed and delivery of the highest quality aesthetic effects possible in an even greater range of materials.
We encourage you to visit, meet our new staff, and tour our expanded facilities. Personally, I am looking forward to the opportunity to work together and to introduce myself to you at Product Ventures.
Best Regards,
Lisa

Refreshingly Feminine

Product Ventures worked with Summer's EveŽ to help reinvigorate the brand through the identification of design opportunities for the brand's wash, powder, spray and wipes. Structurally, the cap and the bottle interact as one unified shape, creating a cohesive design. The arched base, reminiscent of a woman's formal dress, complements the subtle feminine curves of the overall bottle. A modern look is achieved with the updated packaging, elevating the brand's upscale appeal.

Remote Access for Ethnographic Research
By Gail Ritacco

In striving for the most effective way for consumers to inform, inspire, and focus the design process, firms from time to time must examine their tools. With today's marketplace being so competitive, a product's packaging has to work harder at shelf to communicate its brand message and product attributes. Therefore, connecting with target consumers early in the creative process ensures that their needs are being satisfied with the package design.

Life Cycle Analysis and Sustainable Design Strategies By Eric Hartman

I don't know about everyone else, but speaking strictly for myself, "I'm tired of sustainability". I'm tired of everyone jumping on the bandwagon and saying "now that we use a little recycled material in our packaging" or "now that our packaging is made from materials that you can recycle", we are a sustainable company. There are also quite a few companies, I think, who misrepresent what sustainability is and as a result consumers are confused and disconnected with the real reasons a company should embrace sustainability.
