REMEMBERING FAITH JACKSON
faith jackson Former co-op staff member
We regret to share the sad news that Faith Jackson, our former Merchandising Assistant, passed away on Thursday, August 26th. Faith was with us almost from the opening of the co-op, and left last summer to study at UMass Amherst. She will be remembered here as a hard worker with great ideas who cared deeply about the co-op and its mission.

The co-op will be making a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, in sponsorship of the Saturn Return team, formed in memory of Faith and her close friend Myron. The team is joining the Springfield Out of the Darkness Walk on September 12 to raise funds and awareness about suicide prevention. Anyone wishing to join us in making a donation for this cause may follow one of the links above.

green scout logo Thank you to all who voted!
Hadley Angel Garden (Hadley)
Nominated by Betsy Powell
The mission of the Hadley Angel Garden is to help children of diverse backgrounds, many of whom are living in group homes in our area, to create an organic landscape of vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers on a plot in Hadley, Massachusetts. For many of these kids, aged 14-17, this experience is the first of its kind. Now in its second year, the project fights hunger by donating its fresh produce to regional survival centers and teaches children the grace of charity through volunteerism and the art of gardening.
