A wonderful surprise is Olive and Jasmine Asian Bistro conveniently located on Route 30 between Tanger and Rockvale Outlets.

The Asian Bistro offers creative cuisine including, Thai, Japanese, Malaysian, Chinese and Vietnamese. The flavors and freshness are only surpassed by the interesting life of one of the owners, Swee Yap. Educated in Baltimore, he returned to his native Asia where he hosted exotic travel packages and entertained many of Asia's leaders. He was just off the coast when the tsunami hit in 2004. Since that devastated the travel business, he decided to return to the US and open a restaurant.

Peaches

July brings us to fresh peach season!  Yum...Yum!  Lancaster County has many orchards and the first of the season peaches are in!  Here is a mouth watering recipe for peach cobbler you are sure to enjoy!

3 Cups peeled and sliced peaches           4 tsp. baking powder

2 Cups sugar                                         1 T. lemon juice

2/3 Cup milk                                         1/2 Cup butter (1 stick)

1 T. sugar                                              1 Cup Flour

Combine peaches and 1 cup sugar in a pan.  Simmer for 5 minutes.  Add the lemon juice.  Set aside.  Melt the butter in a 13x9x2" pan in the oven.  In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and 1 cup of sugar.  Add the milk to the dry ingredients.  Blend well.  Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan.  Pour peach mixture over top of batter.  Do not stir.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.  When crust has risen to the top, sprinkle with sugar.  Return to oven and bake an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown.
