Be Our Guest
This month, we are pleased to have two expert guests. We have an article to share written by Laura Moritz, Mortgage Consultant from Classic Mortgage LLC in Monroe NY. Ms. Moritz has recently co-authored a book entitled "The Winning Connection" and teaches us how to "Thrive, Not Just Survive in 2009." We also have a quick read by Jennifer Hoffman, owner of Inspired Home Office.
YES YOU CAN THRIVE, not just survive in 2009! by Laura Moritz You're not alone. Everyone is feeling some level of discomfort as a result of our changing economic climate. We are reminded every time we fill our gas tanks, check out at the grocery store, or watch the news, that things are tight. Many of us feel scared and uncertain about what the future holds. Local businesses are feeling the "pinch". Now, more than ever, we need to form alliances, and create connections that create opportunities, synergy and exponential results. In my book "The Winning Connection", I outline the benefits as well as principals of making connections. A slight shift in your logistics and philosophy will change everything! 4 Principals of Winning Connections 1. CONNECT WITH YOUR SELF Remain open for possibilities Learn more about your self Seek balance Focus on positive 2. TAKE YOUR EYE OFF THE PRIZE View connections as limitless possibilities Drop the "What's in it for me?" attitude Eliminate the "score card" mentality Be a "GO GIVER" not a "GO GETTER" 3. CULTIVATE A WINNING FILTER Use your intuitive, non-judgmental filter Keep your eyes wide open Avoid connections with negative/toxic people 4. EXPLORE UNCHARTERED ARENAS Step outside your comfort zone Visit new groups, organizations and clubs Consider new hobbies Volunteer "Connections are NOT instant gratification, insecure or quantity without integrity"
Many people believe it is not what you know, but who you know. I believe it is what you know about who you know and how you are able to share your resources, knowledge and sphere of influence that makes the difference. We often move through our daily lives forgetting that we have a choice, to continue on autopilot as we did the day before or to heighten our awareness and try something new that may lead us to a better way. You are an average of the 5 people you are most connected to. We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results. Article brought to you by:
