GnocchiMaking homemade gnocchi has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember.  I have made it with Nonna and I have made it with our Italian cousins in Italy.  It is very time consuming with much attention to detail so that the little "Italian potato dumplings" come out just right.
 
It  can be a bit too much. I admit it - I don't have the time or the inclination to make gnocchi from scratch anymore.  So when I want an authentic gnocchi without my authentic work - my go product is the prepared gnocchi from LaPiana.  They are made in the Veneto (where Nonna was from) and are very close to homemade and are ready in just 6 minutes.
