Dear DHM friends,

It's April, so the most important news to share with you is that our Spring Band Showcase will take place this Sunday at the Fox Theatre. Several DHM-formed teen bands graduate from high school this May, so we've invited them to play one last time, in addition to our great spring camp bands. The lineup: Pitchforks & Torches, Man Down,
BassLine, The Stellar Atlas and Watch for Wildlife. Show starts at 12:30 and goes as long as needed - please stop by!

Also this weekend, we'll be providing sound at a special Bart's Music Shack event celebrating international Record Store Day (Saturday). This is an excellent way to support local music retailers, see local music and maybe even score some rare vinyl. The Bart's event opens at 10am, with bands starting at 1pm; here's more info about other local music sellers participating.

We've been having a great time in Studio A during the last few weeks, with Rose Hill Drive (gearing up for their East Coast gigs opening for Stone Temple Pilots!), local singer-songwriter Rob Drabkin, and good buddies Hawk Attack (doing the finest photo shoot we've seen in many a month
 - that's them up above).

Finally, we want to show you our new video shadowing a DHM teen band through a week of camp, to their debut performance! Please check it out, and don't forget that you can get a $25 discount on our summer camp programs by going to our registration login page and entering code NEWS2011 when you reach the payment page.

And with that, we're off to do final preparations for Sunday's show - hope to see some of you there!

Thanks       Peace       Gary

P.S. Save the date: we'll be doing free guitar and drum lessons - as well as sound for several local teen bands - at the Yellow Scene Super Kids Expo on Saturday, April 30, so be sure to come by for rock climbing, petting zoo, and plenty of other fun kids' activities.

Summer Rock & Roll Camp for Teens
For teens (11-17) who play or want to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals or keyboard (and more!). Guided by our professional staff of instructors, in our state-of-the-art rehearsal studios, students will play in a band, write original music, play live at a local venue and record a CD.

Junior Rocker Summer Camp for Kids
Half-day program introduces students ages 6-10 to the instruments and flavor of rock & roll. Using a fun, hands-on curriculum designed with the help of local music educators, kids learn basics of guitar, percussion, vocals, and ear training. Students will also write, record and perform a simple song or two.

Summer programs run in week-long sessions starting May 30.
