7 Exceptional Strategies For Marketing Singles

"Although newer technology has moved the focus to the album rather than the single, the digital music format seems to be giving 'the single' a resurgence in not only popularity, but in importance as well. The Single has now evolved into a multi-purpose marketing tool, giving musicians the opportunity to offer different styles of 'singles' to their fans for a variety of different outcomes.

Dear DHM friends,

We can hardly believe it, but spring is here! For us, that means it's time to start planning for our summer camp programs, so we want to let you know that you can get a $25 discount by registering before April 1. To register, go out our UltraCamp login page, and enter code NEWS2011 when you reach the payment page.

Since summer is just a few months away, we want to invite all local teen bands to audition to play the Boulder Creek Fest Teen Stage. Auditions are this Sunday at DHM, and we hear that there are still spots available! If you'd like to try out, please follow this link to the
BCF Teen Band Audition Packet. And speaking of teen bands, we congratulate Never (formed during the fall 2010 intensive workshop) on their opening gig for the Circle Jerks in January - look for more from this great punk group!

The Colorado Daily has opened up voting for CU & Boulder's Best 2011. While there's no category that exactly matches what we do, we'd love for you to vote for us for Best Independent Business (and even Best Customer Service if you're so moved) - both of these categories can be found under Best of Retail. And don't forget to vote for your favorite local bands and venues in the Entertainment section!

Speaking of local bands, we've been having a great time hanging out in Studio A lately with DeVotchKa, Breathe Carolina, The Motet, and of course, Rose Hill Drive. We were also psyched when an episode of the Discovery Channels series Ingenious Minds featuring local musical savant Derek Amato premiered last month - this episode was filmed partially in Studio A last fall. A fascinating story, if you can catch a repeat on TV.

Finally, we'll be doing sound for the UMX Ultimate Music Xperience, the two-day, eighty-band audition event for the Denver People's Fair. If you're in Denver March 26-27, stop by and say hello (it's free)!

Thanks       Peace       Gary
