Today at the Dog House
DHM family,
It's been a whirlwind of a month at Dog House Music, and we're excited to share all our news with you. First, as you probably saw above, we were honored to host rock legend Joe Cocker in Studio A, as he and his band prepared for their tour with Tom Petty (kicking off with the two shows at Red Rocks last week). We heard some great tunes and also learned more about the Cocker Kids' Foundation, which we hope will be a future DHM partner.
In early June we also hosted Bill Kreutzmann, formerly one of the Grateful Dead's two drummers, and his current project (with guitar great Papa Mali) 7 Walkers - these folks jammed until the wee hours, getting ready for a June 5 show at the Fox Theatre.
We're now into our second week of summer camp, and we'd like to take a moment to introduce a new instructor joining us this summer: Erin Jo Harris (vocals, songwriting) is currently songwriter and lead vocalist for Bop Skizzum (Westword-nominated Best Funk Band 2010), and was formerly the lead vocalist for Funkiphino (Westword's Best Funk Band 2008). Erin has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance/Music Theatre from New York University. We'd also like to officially congratulate DHM instructors Nate Barnes and Jimmy Stofer on their new roles as Camp Musical Co-Directors!
Finally, we'd like to invite you to share your feedback on a new program we're working on - we've developed several ideas for topics for a series of
workshops and seminars geared towards teen and adult musicians, and would love to know which, if any, you'd attend (and pay for). To share your thoughts, please click this link to go to a brief survey.
Hope you are enjoying summer, now that warm weather has finally arrived!
Thanks Peace Gary
P.S. Our next session of Adult Rock & Roll Camp will begin later this month - if you'd like to participate (and you haven't already contacted us) please send us an email with your instrument, preferred meeting days, and contact information. |
