Today at the Dog House

Friends of Dog House,
First of all, our show at the Fox Theatre last month was amazing! Six fantastic bands played, including the Grenettes (above - check out the great stage effects supplied by our own Dan Menchey). We want to thank all the students and parents for working so hard this year and helping our program continue to improve.
We're excited to announce that we have partnered with Crucible Recording to provide high-quality live and digital multitrack recording from Studio A. Details are available on our website -- please pass this information (and the coupon below) along!
We've also gotten rolling with our Band Development & Promotion Program, headed up by CU senior music student Wes Barton. Wes will be helping bring DHM clients (especially teen bands) out into the wide world, starting with camp alums The Stellar Atlas, winners of the Thornton Battle of the Bands in 2008.
Other news: at the end of November, CBS Channel 4 aired the summer camp footage that we filmed with them back in June. Better late than never -- we've received many calls and emails as a result, so we're looking forward to an even bigger summer program in 2009.
In November we were pleased to host the musical ensemble of Brazilian spiritual leader Prem Baba in Studio A, preparing for a talk and concert at Naropa University in Boulder. We didn't get the opportunity to meet him, but just hanging out with the band was a spiritual experience in itself.
Finally, we're beginning to put together bands for our spring Intensive Workshop series -- please get your registration in soon, since we'll be starting in January this year. Also, we've received word that the CHUN People's Fair is now accepting applications from bands who want to play the festival -- applications are due January 16. We're looking forward to seeing some of you at the UMX Auditions in March 2009!
Thanks Peace Gary
