Dear DHM Friends,
Well, this month we are deeply involved in our
Intensive Weekend Workshop series, which is producing some great teen bands. Our final show will be November 8 at the Fox Theater in Boulder, and we invite all of you down to check out these new acts. We may also do a warm-up gig at the Boulder Outlook -- we'll keep you posted!
This fall we're also ramping up our lesson program, with instructors on board to teach guitar, bass, drums, keys, vocals, violin, and more! This is a great way to keep your musical momentum during the school year, so please give us a call if you're interested in lessons, or read about the program on the
Lessons page.
Now that the summer is over, we're looking to gain 1-2 additional high school interns for evenings and weekends -- our internships are unpaid, but may be eligible for independent study credit. We'd appreciate it if you could forward this info to any high school students who might be interested.
We're also searching for a college student to become our new booking/band management intern. This intern will help our teen bands and clients get bigger, better gigs, and will make great contacts in the industry -- again, please pass this info along to any college students interested in a music career.
We're excited to announce the opening of
Magdalene, Woman of Light, a rock opera created here in Denver (with early auditions at DHM). It opened October 2 at the New Denver Civic Theatre, and will run until the 19th -- tix online.
This month we hosted Brazilian electro-pop group
CSS as they rehearsed for their gig at the
Monolith Festival, which was amazing. We attended on day 2, and met some great new Colorado bands!
Hope you are all enjoying the pleasant fall weather -- please keep in touch, and let us konw if you're doing something great that we can feature here!
