DHM:
In the News
In March the Yellow Scene featured Dog House in its summer camp section:
"It was one of those defining moments in the young career of Pandamen. To think, it all started at band camp.
"The five Boulder-area high schoolers met in a unique summer camp, Dog House Rock-N-Roll Camp, designed to morph Guitar Hero superstars from the garage to the recording studio." |

Podcast: This Is Your Brain On Arts
"An interest in performing arts helps develop sustained attention spans, which can improve other areas of cognition. Links exist between training in music and the ability to manipulate information in both short-term and long-term memory. Music training also appears to improve kids' capacity for geometric representation, as well as the acquisition of reading skills. [...] So science says that dance, theater and music can make life full of sound and glory, signifying something."

Today at the Dog House

Dear Dog House community,
Happy spring! We are now underway with the Spring Intensive Rock & Roll Workshop series -- save the date now for April 13, which will be our date at the Fox Theatre showcasing these four bands. We are still accepting late-starts through this Saturday, March 8, so please contact us ASAP if you'd like to participate.
We have lots of news this month. First, we've launched our new website with updated content and improved interactivity. Some new features include an mp3 player featuring Dog House bands, a full listing of our media coverage, and a video documentary about the summer camp (coming soon). Some sections are still under development, but please check it out and let us know any suggestions.
DHM summer camps (and The Pandamen, participants in our inaugural summer camp in 2004) were featured in this month's Yellow Scene (see sidebar); we are again nominated for Boulder's Weekly's Best of Boulder -- please follow this link to vote for us!
In other news, Dog House now sits on the Board of Directors for CCTV54/Citizen's Community Television (Boulder), where we'll help CCTV grow their musical programming. We're also hosting our first Rock & Roll Birthday Party later this month, a new venture for DHM -- call for info!
Thanks for your support, and looking forward to working with many of you at our upcoming summer events -- more on these next month!
Thanks Peace Gary | |
