Friends of DHM,
We're now preparing for the Spring
Intensive Rock & Roll Workshop series, which is scheduled to start March 1. Please be sure to get your applications in -- final show will be at the Fox again. DHM will also be providing backline for the
Ultimate Music Xperience March 29-30-- this is the audition to play at the
Capitol Hill People's Fair, and is a great showcase for local bands. The UMX audition itself draws a good crowd at Bender's Tavern, and for bands who make the cut, the People's Fair attracts about 250,000 attendees. More news next month on which DHM bands will be playing UMX.
Website news: we anticipate our new site will launch in mid-February -- during the transition it's possible that some links may not work, so please contact us if there's information you can't find on the new site.
Right now we're interviewing local teachers and musicians to expand our cadre of instructors for this summer, which looks like it will be our biggest sumamr camp season yet. Please pass this info along to anyone you know who'd make a great DHM camp instructor. We're also interviewing student interns who are looking for an opportunity to learn more about the music industry, so please help us out by encouraging high school students you know to apply.
I want to let you all know that this summer, we'll be pioneering a new pilot program for kids ages 6-10. This will be a half-day, week-long program, similar to what we offer to teens, but age-appropriate for younger kids. Please contact me at 303-956-3377 for more info on this new concept.
In January we hosted some great national bands in Studio A, including San Francisco's
New Monsoon. We've also worked on expanding our digital multi-track recording abilities, and are currently partnering with
Microtone Studios to record master tracks for Austin-based artist
Amy Garcia and her new project
New Yearz Day.
Have a great month, and looking forward to seeing some of you on March 1!
